Law Film Shows
Rights Issues
"Law and Order," the Emmy-award
winning documentary concerning police
practices and individual rights, will be
presented by the Law School in the
Newcomb Hall Ballroom tomorrow night
at 7:30 and 9:30.
The film, which was directed by Frederick
Wiseman, who also directed "High School"
which was shown at the University last week,
deals with the day-by-day activities of the
Kansas City Police Department.
To produce the movie, Mr. Wiseman
accompanied police patrols in Kansas City's
high crime areas. The film includes actual
arrests, car thefts, and hold-ups as the police
encountered them.
The movie not only deals with the activities
of the police but also shows the problems
confronting the police, society, and the
individual on issues of search and seizure, false
arrests, right to counsel, and police-community
relations.
Admission is fifty cents.
