Application Limit Nears
For Fulbright-Hays Grants

Applicants competing for graduate
study grants abroad offered by the U.S.
Government under the Fulbright-Hays
Act and for grants offered by various
foreign governments, universities, and
private donors have until November 10 to submit applications. Approximately 500
grants are being offered for 1970-71.

Fulbright-Hays Full Grants will be offered
to the following countries: Argentina, Australia,
Austria, Belgium-Luxembourg, Brazil, Ceylon, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador,
Finland, Federal Republic of Germany, India,
Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand,
Peru, Portugal, Sweden, Thailand, The United Kingdom, and Uruguay.

Contrary to previous announcements full
grants will not be offered to the following
countries: the Republic of China, France,
Greece, Iceland, Iran, Malaysia, the Netherlands,
Norway, the Philippines, Spain and
Turkey.

Teaching assistantships and fellowships will
not be awarded for Italy or the Philippines.

Travel Grants

Also offered are right Hays Travel
Grants supplementing awards to: Denmark, the
Federal Republic of Germany, Israel, Italy,
Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and
Yugoslavia. None are offered to France.

Foreign governments, universities, and private
donors are offering grants available for the
following countries: Austria, the Federal
Republic of Germany, Iceland, Israel, Italy,
Mexico, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland, Tunisia and Turkey. Both study
grants and teaching assistantships are available
to France and Yugoslavia.
