IFC Regulation Requires Guests
To Show Invitations For Parties

First-year men rushing fraternities tomorrow
night will be required to show their invitations
to the security guards, according to a new
ruling passed by the Inter-Fraternity Council
Governing Board.

Both the smoker tonight and the parties
tomorrow are closed. However, the fraternity
invitations need only be presented tomorrow at
the parties.

Also tomorrow, rushees will be able to sit
with fraternities and accept rides to the football
game for the first time during Rush.

Lunch hours Saturday have been moved to
11:30 a.m. so that rushees and brothers will
have plenty of time to eat and get to the game.

The Governing Board has released the
following letter about parties affecting all
guests:

"Because of several incidents which have
recently occurred as the result of the influx of
Non-University individuals into the fraternity
area during parties, it has become necessary for
the Inter-Fraternity Council to restrict entrance
into the fraternity parties.

"This is not to say that non-fraternity
students will not be welcome at fraternity
parties, nor that they will not be allowed
entrance. Uniformed security guards will be
posted at the entrance of all fraternity parties.
These guards have been explicitly instructed
not to admit any person who does not possess a
guest card issued by that particular fraternity.

"If you plan to visit the party at a particular
fraternity house, you should contact a member
of that fraternity so that he may issue a guest
card to you sometime before the party. We
realize that this may be an inconvenience for
you, but it is quite necessary to maintain an
orderly environment for the enjoyment of
parties."
