Grey Takes
Poetry Prize
In an award program established
by the Academy of American Poets
in 1955, Robert Waters Grey, a
first-year graduate student in
English from Woodbine, Maryland,
was awarded first prize for the high
quality of his poetry in general and
in particular for his poem
"Improvisation."
For their work both Randolph
Lobb, another first-year graduate
student in English, and Jack Sutor,
a fourth-year student in the
College, were given honorable
mention. The Academy arranges for
this contest to be sponsored by
various colleges and universities
throughout the country with members
of the English departments
serving as judges.
John Coleman, Calvin Kinnear,
and John Morgan constituted the
Committee of judges this year.
