Biomedical Expert Attinger
To Speak At AED Meeting

Alpha Epsilon Delta premedical
society will hear E. A. Attinger
speak on "The Importance of
Biomedical Engineering on Medical
Care" tonight at 7:30 in Cocke
Hall.

Chairman of the Division of
Biomedical Engineering at the University,
Dr. Attinger is an authority
in his field. He received his M.D.
degree from Zurich University and
his doctorate degree in Biomedical
Engineering from the University of
Pennsylvania. He has held several
research and teaching positions
prior to his coming to the University.
Among these were Research
Director at the Presbyterian-University
of Pennsylvania Medical
center and Assistant Professor of
Medicine at Tufts University Medical
School.

Dr. Attinger is the author of
more than 70 books and articles on
the engineering aspects of cardiopulmonary
medicine.

Also at the meeting, the first
annual AED scholarship will be
presented to a fourth-year member
of the society. The society hopes to
present the stipend annually according
to the money available in
the society's budget. Qualifications
for the stipend are interest and
contributions to the society as well
as character and scholarship.
