'Gripe' Group Formed
By Computer Students

To "air the gripes" of students
concerning their use of the
University's Computer Science
Center, a "structure of sorts" is
being organized and will hold its
first meeting tomorrow evening at
7:30 in room 23 of Gilmer Hall.

Robert Tutty, a member of the
"executive committee" of the
Computer Science Center Users
Committee, describes the
organization as "still in a starting
stage" but said he felt it could
become a focal point for users of
the University's Burroughs 5500
computer to air complaints and
make suggestions for the better
administration of the computer
center.

Prior to this attempt at
organization, there has been no
formal channels between the
computer center's users and its
staff. Mr. Tufty noted that students
from many of the University's
schools, including the law and
medical schools, make use of the
computer center and have
continually approached the center's
staff as individuals asking for
administrative changes. "The
purpose of the users committee,"
he said, "is to channel the users'
force as one to the staff."

The science center is located in
the basement of Gilmer Hall and is
administered by the Computer
Science Center Staff, made up of
hired technicians and professors,
which the computer users'
committee would try to influence.
