Cash Award Offered
To College Students
In Poets' Competition

Student poets have the chance
to earn $100 in competition for
a prize offered by the Academy
of American Pots.

The award will be given to
undergraduate or graduate student
at the University submitting
the best poem or group of poems
for the competition.

There is no restriction on
form, word length or number of
contributions from any one person,
but the committee suggests
that the participants limit their
contributions to a half dozen or
fewer poems which they consider
their best. All poems are to be
unpublished. Contributions must
be signed and turned in to the
English department office, 530
Cabell Hall, in a single envelope
by May 1.

Other schools competing in
the competition include Harvard,
Chicago, Princeton, Vassar,
Rollins, Stanford, Williams and
Yale. The poems will be judged
by several nationally prominent
writers.
