Noted Historian
Speaks Tonight
On Scholarship

Another of the University
Special Lectures for 1967, entitled
"Facts and Hypotheses:
Some of the Precepts of Historical
Scholarship," will be delivered
by M. M. Postan at 8:15 p.m.
tonight in the McGregor Room
of the Alderman Library.

Mr. Postan, Professor of Economic
History at the University
of Cambridge, is a widely known
and influential economic historian
as well as a professional
medievalist. His most recent
book is entitled the "Economic
History of Western Europe,
1945-1964."

The evening's lecture is intentionally
broad in subject matter
with the hopes that it will
appeal to scholars and students
engaged in any aspect of historical
or philosophical writing.
