Theatre-In-The-Round Opens Tonight With "Private Lives"

Central Virginia's first theater-in-the-round
opens tonight with
the production of Noel Coward's
"Private Lives" at the Dinner-Theatre
of Charlottesville, located
three miles west of the city on
U.S. 250.

Written in the 1930's, the
sophisticated comedy involves a
married couple who obtain a
divorce after numerous arguments.

Both of them remarry and, with
their new spouses, honeymoon on
the Riviera where they meet once
again.

Featuring an all-New York
cast, the play stars Elaine Stritch,
a personal friend of the author
who has performed on Broadway
many years, and Michael
Lipton, recent star of the television
program, "As The World
Turns."

Tonight's performance along
with those of tomorrow and
Thursday night will be preview
performances, with tickets selling
for $5, including both the
buffet dinner and the play.

The dinner will begin at 7 and
the play will follow at 8:30.

Regular season prices will go
into effect this weekend with the
Friday and Saturday performances
costing $8 and the Sunday
show $7.

Reservations may be made by
calling the theater box-office at

scheduled every night during the
week except Mondays.
