First-Year Committee Sponsors
'Exciters' At Homecoming Dance

This year's Homecoming
Weekend begins for first-year
men on Friday night at 9 with
the Exciter's band and show in
Newcomb Hall Ballroom.

"Alvia Winston Plus Betty
and the Kapries" will also provide
entertainment and music.
Tickets can be purchased at Newcomb
Hall Desk or Mincer's Pipe
Shop on the corner. The cost is
$1.50 per couple in advance and
$2 per couple at the door.

The dance is being sponsored
by the First Year Committee in
conjunction with the Alumni Association.
This is the first year
that a dance of this kind has been
provided for first-year men.

If it is a success there is a
chance that in the future entertainment
will be provided especially
for first-year men on the

Homecomings weekend.

Members of the First Year
Committee will visit dormitories
tonight to talk to first-year men
about the committee.

Members of the committee will
visit each suite of Observatory
Hill houses at 10 p.m. Other
members will talk to those interested
in the lounge of the McCormick
Road houses; first floor at
10 p.m., second floor at 10:30,
and the third floor at 11 p.m.

The purpose of the visits is to
explain the workings of the First
Year Committee: what it does,
how it does it, and what it has
done.

Elections for the new 1967-68
First Year Committee will be
Thursday night.

The First Year Committee is
a subsidiary organization of the
Student Council. The committee's
purpose above all is to inform
the Student Council of any problems
which are unique to the
first-year class. The first-year
class has no formal representation
in the Student Council.
