Election Regulations
The Elections Committee of
Council recently passed new
election regulations which will
be strictly enforced.
No posters or flyers may be
exhibited or posted from any
column, colonnade, window or
classroom on the Grounds.
Also, "no poster, flyer or the
like may be placed, with respect
to University Grounds, within
100 feet in any direction (on
any floor or landing) of any
other poster, flyer or the like of
that same candidate, provided
that a candidate may place
directly beside, under or above
such poster a statement of
purpose or the like."
Other restrictions enacted by
the committee prohibit
campaigning in any form within
a 15 foot distance of all ballot
boxes, the placing of any
material on the doors or
individual rooms and suites and
the use of posters or flyers
larger than 17 by 22 inches.
The committee has a
complete list of base prices for
all posters and flyers. In
reporting the campaign
expenditures, candidates must
take note of the base price list.
This does not preclude
candidates from getting labor
and/or materials donated and/or
discounted; however, this does
restrict the number of posters
candidates may use.
