Seven Society
Honors Hall

The Seven Society announced
yesterday that Madison Hall is the 1971
recipient of the Society's Organization
Award.

The award was first given at Finals
Day Exercises in June of 1968. "It is
presented annually to that organization
which, through its own initiative
resourcefulness, and energetic activity
has made the most significant strides
toward a more meaningful University,"
stated the letter of announcement.

The letter cited what the Seven Society
considers Mad Hall's outstanding intra and
extra-University activities. They praised the Big
Brother Program in which 250 "brothers" are
paired, the Work Projects, which have been
involved in over twenty five jobs this past year,
the Tutoring Program, and the Companionship
Program which benefits patients in mental
institutions. The letter goes on to list further
accomplishments.

The name of Madison Hall will be engraved
on the Society's silver trophy, which is a
reproduction of an eighteenth-century New
York sugar bowl. At the moment it is in storage
in Alderman Library, but it will be relocated
for display.
