Union Awards Winners In Five
Divisions Of Fine Arts Contest

The winners in the 1970-71 Fine Arts
Contest have been announced by the
University Union. First place winners
were awarded prizes of $50, second and
third place winners were given $25 and
$15.

In the photography division Gregory
Castillo and Ron Shipley were the first
and second place winners, and Reed
Nesier took third place.

Guy Smith, Mike Montavon and Lovelace
Cook were given honorable mention.

Two first prizes were awarded in the short
story division, going to William Holleman, Jr.
for his story "First Slaughter," and to David
Minckler, for a story titled "Stillwater."

Second and third prizes went to William
Holleman, Jr. For his "Sarah" and to Mary
Warner, for her story, "And Taketh Away."

In the art category three first prizes were
awarded to Lee Coplin, W.H. Harris and to
Tyree Pool. Two second prizes went to Dale
Brown and Mike Murphy. Honorable mentions
were given to Michael A. Lynn, Eric R. Berry
Edward Pool and C.A. Creswell.

Only one prize was given in the One Act
Play division, a first place going to William
Kranick.

In the Film category, included in the
competition for the first time this year, Brad
Face captured first place with his film "The
Making of a Movie."

Jeffrey Ruggles was second with his film
"Marijuana" and Carl Erickson won a third
place prize with "Jerry."

The contest winners are requested to
