Pre-Registration Approaches
For Summer Enrollment

Pre-registration for the 1971 Summer
Session will take place in the Summer
Session office in Garrett Hall from
Monday, May 10, through Friday May
21, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to
3:30 p.m. daily except Saturday and
Sunday.

Students currently enrolled for
resident study who expect to attend the
Summer Session must file an Intent to
Register card by May 1. If the card is
filed after May 1, there will be a delay in
preparation of registration materials for
the student.

During pre-registration, students will pick up
their registration packets and Schedule of
Classes Directory from the Summer Session
office. Each student will take the card to his
Dean's office for approval of summer courses.

Students in the Graduate School of Arts and
Sciences, however, are asked to report directly
to the graduate school office, 438 Cabell Hall,
to pick up registration materials. These
materials will be available during the first week
of pre-registration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and
from 2 to 4 p.m.

Graduate students who plan to work on
only theses or dissertations must register and
have their schedule card approved at their
Dean's office.

The Summer Session office emphasizes that
all August degree candidates must be registered
in the summer session regardless of whether
they will be taking any courses. Such persons
are urged to complete their registration prior to
May 21.

Fees will be payable in full on Registration
Day at the beginning of the session. Students
may complete their registration in advance by
giving their summer address and paying all fees
to the Bursar. These students will not have to
return to the University until the first day of
classes.

If a student has not paid his fees by the end
of Registration Day, he will be charged a
penalty fee of $5.00.

The regular eight-week summer session will
go from Monday, June 21, to Saturday August
14. Special ten-week courses will start on
Monday, June 14. The education intersession
will extend from June 14 to July 2.

Copies of the summer session catalog and
the schedule of Classes Directory are available
in the Summer Session office.
