'Palestine Week' To Begin Monday

The American Friends of Free
Palestine at the University will sponsor
"Palestine Week" beginning February 8
which will include a five-day program of
films, literature, exhibits, workshops, and
panel discussions on Palestine and related
topics.

Apart from these programs, "His
Land," a documentary film on Israel, will
be shown in Gilmer Hall on Sunday,
February, at 6 p.m. This film which will
only be shown once is free to the public and is
being sponsored by Madison Hall.

Handicrafts

"Palestine Week" will begin Monday,
February 8 with a display of Palestinian art and
handicrafts in the Visitors Lounge of Newcomb
Hall between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Later that evening a dinner and bazaar will
be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church
at 6 p.m. Artifacts on display during the day
will be available for purchase.

Free Film

Tuesday's program will include a free film
and discussion of the Palestinian revolution at 1
p.m. and again at 4 p.m. in the South Meeting
Room, and that evening at 7:30 Elias Shoufani,
professor at the University of Maryland, and
Randa Fattal, editor of "Arab World" will
speak on the revolution and the position of
women in Palestine in the Newcomb Hall
Ballroom.

Workshops will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.
and again at 4 p.m. in Newcomb Hall on such
topics as Cuba, Africa, Third-World Women,
Palestine and the Third World Movements in
the United States.

Wednesday evening the program will include
talks by Hattem Husseini from the Arab
Information Center and other speakers from
the Iranian Students Association, the Ethiopian
Student Union, and the Black Panther Party.

During the entire week there will also be a
photo display on Palestine in the lobby of
Alderman Library. All programs are free of
charge except the Monday night dinner and all
are open to the public.
