ACLU Honors
Bill Of Rights
With Banquet

The second annual Bill of Rights Day
banquet, sponsored by the American Civil
Liberties Union of Virginia, will be held
tonight at 6 in the Ballroom of Newcomb
Hall.

The dinner marks the anniversary of
the adoption of the Bill of Rights. On
December 15, 1791 the process of
ratifying the first ten amendments to the new
federal Constitution was completed.

Aryeh Neier, executive director of the
national ACLU, will be the featured speaker at
the banquet, which is being held in conjunction
with the annual meeting of the Central Virginia
Chapter.

Mr. Neier, 34 years old, was elected
executive director in September. He was
previously the director of the New York Civil
Liberties Union and an associate editor of
Current Magazine.

Tickets for the dinner at $5.50 may be
purchases through the ACLU offices.
