Two films, End of a Revolution and
Girl on a Landscape, will be shown
tonight in Newcomb Hall Ballroom
continuously from 6-11.
End Of A Revolution is a BBC documentary
of the Bolivian miner's and peasant's struggle
against their rich, absentee landlords. The film
explores the role of Che Guevara in the Bolivian
revolution and contains an unauthorized
interview with Regis Debre, author of Revolution
Within the Revolution.
Striking coverage of the dangerous and
miserable working conditions of the Bolivian
people and their courage in the face of hardship
and oppression makes this film a memorable
one, as one critic claims.
Girl On A Landscape is a sensitive study of
the nature of change and reality, as seen
through the eyes of a female. Taking as its
cinematic premise the Idea that our private
worlds are known only to ourselves, the film
explores the subjective meaning of change for a
female as she passes from girlhood, through
adolescence, her first affair and marriage.
The film is one which emphasizes the
transience and tentativeness of our impressions
and existence.
Admission to the films is 50 cents.
