Opens Season
The Filmwatchers begin their '69-'70 season
Thursday night, October 9, with showings at 7
and 9 p.m. of "All Quiet on the Western
Front," a true story of the hostilities and
depravities of World War I.
This year's program has been divided into
two parts - Fall and Spring. A cinema course
will be offered during the second semester
which will require membership in the Spring
program. Seven vintage films have been
scheduled for this film besides "All Quiet on the
Western Front: " "Horse Feathers," Oct. 16;
"Destry Rides Again," Oct. 23; "It Happened
One Night" Oct. 30; "The Big Parade," Nov.
13; "Rebel Without A Cause," Dec. 4; "Shoot
the Piano Player," Dec. 11; and "Repulsion."
All movies in the Filmwatchers Series will be
shown twice in Gilmer Hall at 7 and 9 p.m.
Season tickets are on sale at Newcomb Hall,
Mincer's, and at the door for $4.50. Individual
tickets will also be sold at the door for 75
cents.
