Circle K Sponsors Concert
By Glenn Miller Orchestra

Buddy DeFranco and the Glenn
Miller Orchestra will appear in
concert at the Paramount Theater
here in Charlottesville beginning at
8:00 p. m. this Friday.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is
"undoubtedly the biggest record
selling popular orchestra in the
United States." Established by the
late Glenn Miller it has managed to
draw "the largest audience for
popular music in the past
twenty-five years."

The group has lately played at a
number of well-known
entertainment centers, including
the Flamingo and Tropicana Hotels
in Las Vegas. Other appearances
include the New Wagon Wheel in
Lake Tahoe, California; Steel Pier
in Atlantic City, New Jersey; and
the Waldorf Astoria in New York
City.

Internationally, the orchestra is

also well-known. It has played two
concert tours in Europe and three
in Japan and the Far East. Needless
to say, the group makes its home in
the United States.

Performing for a major school
or university is nothing new to the
Glenn Miller Orchestra. The
members have played at most of
the large institutions of learning
throughout the country.

Latest Hit

orchestra's latest hit
albums include "Glenn Miller Time
1965", (with Bobby Hacket),
"Great Songs of the 60's-Glenn
Miller Time", and its most recently
released recording "Something
New." A new album entitled "In
The Mod" will soon be released by
R. C. A. Victor. The musicians are
expected to play some of their
songs from "In The Mod" on
Friday night so that the audience
may have a preview of what it can
expect if it purchases the new
album.

With the exception of Lawrence
Welk, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is
the only orchestra to have its own
television show in the last eight
years.
