Council, Judiciary Announce
Dec. 13, 14 As Election Days

Student Council's Elections
Committee will sponsor
elections for Council
representatives and Judiciary
Committee representatives
Dec. 13 and 14.
Five representatives from
the College, one from
Engineering, one from
Graduate Arts and Sciences
and one from Law will be
elected to Student Council
positions.
Three representatives from
the College, two from
Engineering, one from
Graduate Arts and Sciences,
one from Law and one from
Medicine will be elected to the
Judiciary Committee.
Candidates must prepare
petitions signed by students
from their respective schools
supporting their candidacy. A
$10 bond must also be
submitted. It will be refunded
unless a candidate commits an
election regulation infraction.
The deadline for filing
petitions for candidates' names
to appear on the ballot is 4
p.m., Monday Dec. 4, at which
time the Committee will have a
required meeting for all
candidates.
Candidates may not begin
campaigning until after that
meeting.
Any questions about
numbers of signatures for
petitions, what constitutes
campaigning, qualifications for
office, or any other aspect of
the election should be directed
to Elections Committee
Chairman Milton Whitfield at
977-5072 or Student Council
offices.
Mr. Whitfield has copies of
election regulations, and said,
"Any student with questions
should get in touch with us
rather than risk committing an
infraction unknowingly."
