Anniversary
Celebrated

A special program concerning the
2500th Anniversary of the Persian Empire will
be presented Friday in the ballroom of
Newcomb Hall.

Rouhollah K. Ramazani, professor of
government and foreign affairs, will discuss
"The Meaning of Iran on its 2500
Anniversary." Michael Bernard of Alderman
Library will speak on the subject, "Experiences
in Iran." Mr. Bernard formerly served with the
Peace Corps in Iran. A movie and slides will
also be shown.

Mr. Ramazani is a member of the United
States Executive Committee, established for the
anniversary, which is being celebrated in Iran
this year. The committee is composed of
academicians and curators. Its honorary
chairmen include Mrs. Richard Nixon and
ex-presidents Lyndon Johnson and Harry
Truman.

Friday's program is free and open to the
public.

European Jobs Open

The Student Overseas Organization
(SOS) reports that thousands of student Jobs
are now available in Europe. Located in
Luxembourg, this organization is designed to aid
American college students work and travel
throughout Europe. SOS will secure a job, work
permit, visa and other necessary working papers
for any interested student.

Winter jobs are found mainly in ski resorts,
hotels, and restaurants. Summer opportunities
include work in resorts, restaurants, hotels
hospitals, factories, offices and shops.

Various positions in camp counseling
manual labor, and baby sitting are also
available. Most jobs are in Switzerland, France,
Germany and Spain. They pay standard wages,
with room and board usually provided.
