Canevari Gets
New Position

Robert T. Canevari, Assistant Dean of
Student Affairs at the University for the
past two years, was named dean of
students yesterday by University President
Edgar F. Shannon Jr.

In the new position, Mr. Canevari will be
concerned with student discipline, orientation
of new students, social life and activities of
students, the University Union, student societies,
fraternities and Selective Service Counseling,
President Shannon said. Canevari will
report to the vice president for student affairs.
His appointment is effective immediately.

Dean Canevari is a 1960 graduate of the
University who received his master's degree in
education at the University in 1964. He has
taught in secondary schools, including Parry
McClure High School in Buena Vista and
Albemarle High School as well as physical
education classes at the University. In 1966 he
was appointed director of student aid at the
University and a year later became assistant
dean.
