EU registration
for fall session
Registration for the fall semester of
the Experimental University will take
place on Thursday, October 16 from 3 - 6
p.m. in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom. The
time has been changed from that which
was originally printed in the catalogue.
Courses for this, the third registration,
appeared last week in the Experimental
University's fall catalogue. 48 courses, the
largest number to date, were listed in the
catalogue, and an addenda which was inserted
contained five more courses that
were turned in too late to be printed with
the rest.
Again this year the courses offered
cover a wide range of interests. Theater
Games, probably the most popular course
last year is being offered again. There are
also a number of less entertaining, but
equally interesting courses dealing with
interpersonal relationships.
At the other end of the spectrum the
Experimental University is offering two
courses on Bartending, two courses on
Modern Dance, a course in Karate, two
courses dealing with comic books (one
focus' on underground Komix, and the
other deals with the regularly seen comic-book-stand
variety.
Politics are the subject of many other
courses. Topics range again across the entire
field of political philosophy; from
courses on conservatism to courses on America's
Left.
Coordinators of the Experimental University
have expressed their pleasure with
the reception that the EU has received
this fall. The present catalogue they feel
offers subjects of interest to nearly every
type of person at the University. A push
has been made this fall to spread the Experimental
University to the community,
and copies of the catalogue have been distributed
to both Lan and Albemarle High
Schools. In addition, members of the
broader Charlottesville area are becoming
involved with teaching classes as well.
On Thursday when registration is
held, there will be a number of tables set
up around the perimeter of the ballroom.
Interested people need only find the subject
of their choice and sign the registration
sheet. For the purpose of providing
the Experimental University with the
funds to print the catalogue as well as
allowing the course leaders to have materials
duplicated, there will be a registration
fee of $1.
For those who have not yet seen catalogues
(and most have already been distributed)
there will be course listings and
spare catalogues at registration. Everyone
who feels inclined is encouraged by the
Coordinating Committee to attend egis-
