Council Sets
Election Date

The Student Council Elections
Committee has announced the dates for
the Graduate College of Arts and Sciences'
Student Council Election and for the
reelection for the seats of Treasurer and
Vice-President for the Class of 1970.

The election to fill the seat of Sue Ford
on the Student Council from the Graduate
School of Arts and Sciences will take place
Monday, October 13 from 8 a.m. until 5
p.m.

All petitions of candidates for the post
of Student Council representative from the
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences must be
turned in to the Student Council offices, fourth
floor Newcomb Hall, by 4:30 p.m. Friday,
October 3.

A meeting of all candidates for the Student
Council post will be held on Monday, October 6
at 3 p.m. in the Student Council offices. All
candidates must attend or be represented by
alternates.

Candidates should have a list of their activities
and a 200-word statement in the Student Council
offices by 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, if they
wish their statements to be published in The
Cavalier Daily.

The candidates for the Student Council seat
must also supply their own poll watchers. There
will be a meeting of all the poll watchers for the
Council elections Wednesday, October 8 at 3
p.m. in the Student Council offices.

The amount of money to be spent on
the election by any one candidate is $75.

The re-election for the offices of Treasurer
and Vice-President of the Class of 1970 will be
held Thursday, October 9 from 8 a.m. until 5
p.m.

The only people eligible for the office of
Treasurer for the 1970 will be those students
who ran for the post last year. Candidates to fill
the office of Vice-President of the Class of 1970
which was vacated by Brad Armstrong when he
did not return to the University this year, must
be 1970 Engineering degree candidates. This
election will not be restricted to previous
candidates as is the reelection of the office of
Treasurer.

All candidates for the offices of both
Treasurer and Vice-President must attend a
meeting October 2 at 4:30 in the Student
Council offices.

All the candidates for both offices must
supply their own poll watchers. The poll watchers
should attend a meeting October 7 at 2:30 p.m.
in the Student Council offices.
