Meeting Tomorrow

New Members Sought By ACLU

In hopes of enlisting new volunteers
from the University, the
American Civil Liberties Union will
hold its annual membership meeting
at St. Thomas Parish Hall on
Alderman Road at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Walter Wadlington, professor of
law at the University law school,
will address the meeting. He will
speak on "Civil Liberties, the Supreme
Court, and the Family."

The ACLU needs members at
the present time from the University
and the Charlottesville area to
help staff its many programs. Volunteers
are needed for research projects,
clerical assignments, membership
drives, educational activities, a
proposed newsletter, and service
on the standing committees of the
ACLU.

The agenda of tomorrow's meeting
includes a review of the ACLU's
first-year actions, a report on the
Union's development around the
state, and a discussion of future expansion
plans.

Anyone who would like to serve
on the ACLU in some capacity, but
cannot attend the meeting, should
contact Arthur Shulman, Secretary
of the ACLU. He can be reached
at 809 Cabell Ave., telephone number
293-7572.
