First-Year Man
Injured By Car
On Emmet Street

A first-year man was struck
by a car Wednesday evening
while crossing congested Emmet
Street near the Monroe Hill
dorms.

David Brusco of 315 Metcalf,
was taken to University Hospital
by the Albemarle Rescue Squad.
A native of Westport, Connecticut,
he was admitted with lacerations
of the head and a leg injury.

On his way back to the McCormick
Road Houses, Mr.
Brusco was hit in the crosswalk
protected by a sign with two
flashing yellow lights about 1000
feet away. The driver of the
vehicle was charged with reckless
driving by Charlottesville
Police.

Mr. Brusco is reported to be
in satisfactory condition.
