Law Group
Publishes
'Leg Work'

By SUZY LAWSON

The Legal Environment
Group (L. E. G.) of the Law
School has published the first
edition of its new monthly
environmental publication, "Leg
Work."

The six-page newsletter
contains articles concerning the
use of spotlights in hunting
game, land use and zoning, and
fox hunting.

Environmental Manual

The news letter is a manual
for community groups to use
in rectifying local
environmental problems,
according to L.E.G.

The group plans six or seven
editions of "Leg Work" this year,
according to Editor and
second-year Law Student
Jeremy Kahn. At present, the
publication is staffed only by
L.E.G. members. Interest is the
only criterion for group
membership.

"Two members are studying
in the environmental sciences
department and another is a
landscape architecture
student," said third-year Law
student John W. Lunsford,
L.E.G. president. "This
provides us with a broader base
of expertise."

Copies Available

Student Council funds and
contributions provide the sole
financial support for the
newsletter. Copies are available
at Alderman Library and the
L.E.G. offices behind Clark
Hall.

Future issues will discuss
procedures for stopping
undesirable dam construction
and saw mill operations which
pollute streams.

L.E.G. also plans to explain
how citizens can defeat power
company plans for installing
major power lines across
private property.
