Counselors Pick Zablow
For Resident Chairman
By RICHARD PETTY
Shelly Zablow, a third year biology
major from Norfolk, Virginia, has been
named Chairman of the Upperclass
Resident Staff Program for next year.
Experienced Counselor
Mr. Zablow, the only applicant for the
position, was interviewed by the current
Executive Committee of Counselors and
the Committee on Counselors before
being selected. An experienced counselor,
Mr. Zablow has served as a counselor in
Courtenay House and is the current Head
Resident of Dunnington House.
In his new position, he will be charged
with coordinating the entire upperclass
counseling program. Upperclass students
will be housed next year in McKim, Mary
Munford, five Alderman Road
dormitories, four Monroe Hill dorms, and
on the Lawn.
Orientation And Supervision
Mr. Zablow views the upperclass
counseling program as quite different
from the first-year program. "By its very
nature," he states, "the first-year program
has to be more involved with orientation
and supervision."

around longer and do not need as much
supervision. Much of my job will involve
working to improve the social
opportunities of the upperclass residents,
and thus I plan to work closely with
Student Council."
