Carr's Hill Road To Be Relocated
To Accommodate Arts Building

Carr's Hill Road at the University will
be closed beginning Monday so that the
road can be relocated around the
developing fine arts center.

Completion date for the new 24-foot
road is expected to be about March 1,
1971, according to the University's
Department of Buildings and Grounds.

The roadbed is being redefined to provide
space for additional education buildings that
are planned for the center.

The first building in the center, Campbell
Hall, which houses the School of Architecture,
was opened for classes last February. In
addition, Fayerweather Hall on Carr's Hill has
been renovated to house the department of art.

The remainder of the fine arts center will
include facilities for drama, music, and art
education.

There is at present no firm timetable for
completion of the center itself, nor has a final
completion date been set.

In addition, a usually reliable source has
informed The Cavalier Daily that a parking lot
for approximately 270 cars will be built near
the site of the fine arts complex.
