To Whom It May Concern:
Effective January 1, 1968, The Cavalier Daily will eliminate
front page announcements of "routine" events at the University
such as movies, lectures, meetings, demonstrations, etc. Organizations
sponsoring such events should place their announcements
in the University Notices which appear on page 4. Steps
have been taken to prevent further exclusion of the Notices
from the paper. To insure that they will appear, however,
it is always advisable when possible to place such announcements
with The Cavalier Daily several days prior to the event.
The final deadline for these notices is 2 p.m. the day before
the occasion.
At the discretion of the editors, announcements of events
which might involve a large number of members of the University
community, such as a speech by an eminent national
luminary, will be announced and covered on page 1. In addition,
announcements accompanied by pictures will usually be
favored.
All students interested in such events should begin to read
the Notices on page 4 regularly.
