Faculty Chooses
Advisory Group

The Faculty Senate has
elected from its own
membership a committee to
assist the Board of Visitor's
Special Committee in selecting
nominees for University
President.

The members of the
committee represent all 10
schools of the University.
Those elected were
Architecture Prof. William
Zuk, History Prof. and Dept.
Chairman William W. Abbot,
Physics Prof. and Dept.
Chairman Judah M. Eisenberg,
and English Prof. Robert
Kellogg.

Committee Members

Other committee members
are Asst. Commerce Prof. O.W.
Broome Jr., Education Prof.
and Department of Education
Foundation Chairman Richard
M. Brandt, Engineering Prof.
and Assoc. Dean Avery Catlin,
Business Administration Prof.
and Division of Research
Director William Rotch, Law
Prof. Daniel J. Meador, Surgery
Prof. John S. Horsely and
Asst. Nursing Prof. Barbara
Brodie.

University Rector Joseph
H. McConnell has requested
the Faculty Committee to
research the nature of the
University President's office
and to determine the necessary
qualifications of the person
who will fill the position.

The committee will also
assist the Board's Special
Committee in any other way
that it may request.

Steering Committee

The faculty committee will
meet next Monday to select
from its membership a Steering
Committee of no more than
five members to make regular
reports to and meet
periodically with the Board of
Visitor's Special Committee.

The Steering Committee
will also regularly receive the
recommendations of a
committee of the student
body.

When contacted several
members of the committee
reserved comment until after
the committee meets.
