Steppenwolf
Highlights
IFC Weekend

Spring is here. The Vernal Equinox
will be ushered in this weekend when the
Interfraternity Council presents its annual
IFC Weekend. Two main events will
highlight this Spring Bacchanalia.

Saturday will be launched with a beer
blast in Mad Bowl from 1 to 5 p.m. which
will feature two big bands, including
Jeoffrey Snide from Washington, D.C.
While rocking to continuous music for
four hours, one can sip beer from the
supply of 72 kegs for the bargain price of
only $2.50 per couple or $2 per person.
With such an unlimited quantity you
better be sure to bring your biggest
Wahoo mug.

Top Rock

Following this afternoon will be a long
awaited concert, featuring Steppenwolf, one of
the top rock groups in America.

Two of their singles, "Born to Be Wild" and
"Magic Carpet Ride" have sold over one million
copies, and four of their albums have gone over
the golden millon-dollar mark, "Steppenwolf,"
"Steppenwolf the Second," "Monster," and
"Steppenwolf Live."

Their music ranges across the spectrum of
today's ideas — from the driving "Born to Be
Wild," which has been called the greatest bike
song ever written, through songs like "Draft
Resister" and "Monster," criticizing the faults
of America, to "The Pusher," a six-minute
indictment of hard drug sellers.

Visual Act

One of the most visual acts performing, the
type which forces a response from their
listeners, their concerts have broken attendance
records from coast to coast. According to
Newsweek, "Their performances show
astonishing musical ability and sophistication, a
density and complication of textures, and a
combustible spontaneity that lights..fires under
their audiences."

Beginning at 8 p.m. at University Hall, this
IFC concert will feature a sound system by
Clair Brothers, one of the best systems in the
country. Tickets for this presentation are only
$3.25 in advance or $3.75 at the door.

Closing out the day will be the house parties
which will begin at 10 p.m. Saturday night and
continue on into the first day of Spring. In case
of inclement weather, the beer blast will be
held in Bayly Museum.
