IFC To Require
Link Doormen
Easters Weekend

By Tom Jenks
Cavalier Daily Staff Writer

It has been decided by the
Governing Board of the Interfraternity
Council that Link Security
guards will be required in the
fraternity houses during the parties
on Friday and Saturday nights of
Easters Weekend. This decision was
announced at Monday night's meeting
of the IFC.

Bob Fisher, president of the
IFC, said that it was decided not to
discontinue the Link Security Service,
because "most of the grievances
with Link were of a short
term nature and on the basis of an
individual guard and because it was
felt that the guards needed to be
tried on a trial basis once more."

Lower Cost

Several fraternity representatives
at the meeting expressed the
opinion that the grievances were
not short term and that they were
not satisfied with the performance
of Link Security.

Mr. Fisher then commented that
in the future the cost of the guards
would be lowered, that the guards
would be selected more carefully,
and that the guards would be more
familiar with how to handle the
party weekends at individual houses.

A warning to the fraternities to
obey the rules regarding the activities
of their pledges was issued at the
meeting as was a warning not to set
off fireworks in the fraternity area.
