The particle exhibits a variety of forms, from the
monosyllabic structure characteristic of some numerals to the polysyllabic constructions of
the adverbs. Particles may not be inflected or otherwise altered in structure. They function
as numerals, introductory particles, connectives, adverbs, and adjectives. Examples: dáłee'é 'one', naaki 'two', tá 'three, díͅíͅ'- 'four', 'ákoo 'and, then', 'áńdeeda 'and so, just then', nágo 'then and', 'ilk'idáͅ 'long ago', haͅh 'hurry, in a hurry', ndah 'but', dáándí 'truly, certainly'. Many other examples will be
discussed in the notes.
