西臺慟哭記
魂朝往兮何極。暮歸來兮關水黑。化為朱鳥兮有噣焉食。
A song sung by Xie Xiang in his ritual for calling the spirit of Wen Tian Xiang, who had just died during the fight against the Mongolian takeover of China. This
ceremony was performed in part to express Xie's admiration of Wen and in part so that Wen's spirit would go to the right place.
