Apparently a compound of gólizh-; the 3rd person of ni- ...-ł-chiͅ, 'to smell, give off an odor' [imp. neut. intr.; ni- adj.]; and the archaic , relative -é. gólizh- also appears in the word gólizhé 'skunk'.
