 Description: The 1st day of July 1838, the day fixed on by the enactments of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia for their stated annual meeting, being Sunday, there was consequently no meeting of the Board on that day. On the following day, Monday July 2d, Messrs. Cabell & Cocke appeared, and were engaged in examining the Book of the Chairman & the Minutes of the proceedings of the Faculty, & in noting such things as might seem to require the action of the Board when a quorum might be formed.
